Our client is recruiting for a Performance Reporting Manager to ensure that external and internal performance is of a high quality for each reporting period thus driving business performance by providing commercial and operational insight and effective management processes.
Role and responsibilities
- Undertakes senior-level engagement and manages cross-business issues/stakeholders to ensure results consolidation is prepared on a timely and accurate basis.
- Maintaining a clear understanding of external events that may impact business performance, e.g. competitor industry economics.
- Provide meaningful budgets, forecasts and scenarios, integrated with core business processes such as strategy and Life of the business where appropriate.
- Act as an advocate and role model for understanding cost drivers and cost control.
- Provide an integrated business performance management framework to ensure management understanding and regular review and challenge.
- Ensure key business performance risks, issues and opportunities are highlighted to management.
- Implement a purpose-driven, high-performing culture that is aligned with the company values, is inclusive and promotes diversity, supports engagement and fosters continuous improvement to work processes.
- Ensure individuals and team have the knowledge, skills, authorities and resources to deliver against expectations and accountability (time, people and budget).
- Develop required compliance governance in the context of the discipline at a departmental level
Minimum requirements- education, skills and experience
- BCom Accounting or relevant degree/qualification in Finance
- CA or CIMA is an advantage
- Proven experience in a senior commercial/financial analysis and management role in a large mining/resources company doing analysis and benchmarking of financial/business data in a mining/heavy industry environment
- Must have knowledge of new technologies and their impact on operational activities as applicable to the role.
- Knowledge of and application of project management fundamentals
- Commercial/business drivers in discipline, business performance variability and underlying causes that define subsequent actions
- Must have applied investment valuation approaches and interpreted findings and other information
- Experience in applying risk management techniques and critical controls
- A proven track record of applying project management techniques to manage large and complex projects and ensures changes are embedded into business processes
