Human Capital Generalist

Our client is seeking a resilient and proactive HC Generalist with a strong background in Employee Relations (ER) to join their dynamic Human Capital team. The ideal candidate will thrive in high-pressure environments, demonstrate exceptional work ethic, and bring a positive, solutions-oriented attitude. This role is critical in supporting line management with all ER matters, ensuring compliance, and driving continuous improvement in HR processes.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a generalist HR role with a strong focus on Employee Relations.
  • Proven experience handling disciplinary hearings, grievances, and CCMA representation.
  • Solid understanding of South African labour legislation and HR best practices.
  • Experience working in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Employee Relations & Compliance

  • Provide expert guidance and support to line managers on disciplinary processes, grievances, and conflict resolution.
  • Represent the organisation at the CCMA and other dispute resolution forums.
  • Ensure compliance with labour legislation, internal policies, and procedures.
  • Assist in identifying and mitigating HR-related risks and fraud controls.

HR Operations & Administration

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records (electronic and hard copy).
  • Provide cross-functional administrative support across the Human Capital division.
  • Maintain and update master data on the HR Information System (HRIS).

Reporting & Data Analysis

  • Prepare and analyse employee-related data to support decision-making and workforce planning.
  • Generate management reports and provide insights to support employee relations and performance management.

Process Improvement & Systems

  • Assist the Human Capital Manager in improving HRIS processes and functionality.

Governance & Risk Management

  • Support internal, external, and ISO audit requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to ISO9001:2015 quality standards.
  • Enforce Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to minimise business risk and ensure continuity.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Represent HC in committees, task teams, and meetings as required.
  • Communicate HC initiatives and updates effectively across the organisation.
