Our client based at Groblersdal (Limpopo) is recruiting for a Chief Accountant to oversee and manage their Finance Department.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensures full function of debtors is performed – from capturing transactions to payment and reconciliation
- Ensures completeness of databases and integrations into accounting software
- Balances intercompany accounts
- Manages and reports on credit risk
- Inputs into cashflow forecast
- Ensures accuracy and completeness of all transaction processing
- Performs General Ledger reconciliations
- Processes and manages VAT and VAT returns
- Raises and processes journals
- Processes month-end and year-end
- Prepares general ledgers for management reporting
- Monitors compliance with covenants
- Assembles information for the external auditors
- Maintains the chart of accounts
- Reports actuals against budget
- Manages the creditors department
- Ensures full function of creditors is performed – from capturing of transactions to payment and reconciliation
DESIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATION
- Relevant degree
- At least 5 years in a similar role
- Advanced Excel skills, advanced computer literacy, familiar with SAGE Pastel Evolution, IDU and other software (QX)
- Knowledge of Foreign Exchange
- In-depth knowledge of Accounting and Financial statements
