Our client is recruiting for a Candidate Quantity Surveyor to support senior quantity surveyors and learning the full scope of the profession. 1x Cape Town office and 1x Johannesburg Office.
DESIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATION
Education
- BTech Quantity Surveying (from an institution accredited by the relevant professional council (e.g., SACQSP, RICS).
- Registered with the appropriate body as a Candidate Quantity Surveyor
Experience
- 5 years post-graduation
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain organized project records and cost data.
- Assist in compiling progress reports, cost reports, and meeting minutes.
- Prepare logbooks, diaries, or reports required for professional registration (e.g., RICS APC, SACQSP PrQS logbook).
- Assist in preparing initial cost estimates and feasibility studies.
- Help develop cost plans during design stages (elemental cost planning).
- Assist in the preparation of Bills of Quantities (BoQs), schedules of rates, and other tender documentation.
- Participate in the analysis and comparison of contractor tenders.
- Assist in the selection of procurement methods.
- Help prepare and issue tender documents and manage tender processes.
