Chief Information Officer

Our client based in Kempton Park has an exciting vacancy exists at the Corporate Office for an experienced Chief Information Officer within the Information Technology Division.

Key Performance Output

The successful candidate will be reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and will be responsible but not limited to, the following:

  • Translate organisational goals applicable to the area of responsibility as derived from the business plan into clear direction, implement effectively and efficiently and ensure that appropriate remedial actions are taken.
  • Develop and implement the Company IT Strategy and Plan that is aligned to the company’s business objectives.
  • Translate and align the COMPANY business strategy into an actionable and effective technology strategy and roadmap
  • Direct the implementation of the IT Strategy and roadmap, which will enable the Company to become a world-leading digital airport business
  • Shape, lead and manage all IT functions and roles to create a culture of high performance that drives and maximises business value through all technology services.
  • Ownership of all IT services and maintenance of existing IT systems, ensuring effective management of risks and compliance.
  • Drive smart technology investments and ensure value-for-money across THE COMPANY, including managing and reporting on IT performance metrics and budgets.
  • Develop and manage OPEX and CAPEX budgets.
  • Report to Audit and Risk Board sub-committee, IT steering committee and other governance bodies on overall IT services and financial performance.
  • Accountable for operational team performance through effective management within policies and procedures to ensure achievement of standards/objectives.
  • Build, support and maintain healthy, diverse internal and external relationships (government, authorities and agencies) to ensure achievement of organisational goals. Implement remedial actions where required.
  • Ensure strong IT governance is embedded to manage risks and ensure compliance.

Technical Skills and Experience

The following skills and experience, or the equivalent of such, will be required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (4 years – 480 credits NQF Level 8) in Information Technology/Computer Science or equivalent is essential.
  • Master’s degree in Information Technology/Computer Science or equivalent is advantageous.
  • 8 years operational experience in IT Business Management and Governance – a facing role is essential.
  • 5 years of executive management experience is essential.
  • Microsoft Office at an advanced level.
